With a price of $1499 (on promotional sale), it is on the top of the medium price category in the group of the elliptical machines for home use. By its price and features it is placed right in the middle of the Smooth's series of crosstrainers designed with adjustable stride length. The new Smooth CE 5.5 is a compact space saver equipped with an electronic motorized adjustable stride length ranging from 18 to 21 inches and 24 levels of intensity to help you reach your fitness goals. The computer console has a nice blue backlit LCD display. It is preloaded with 26 workout programs and offers a great feature to maximize user's performance and results - the mySmooth Virtual Fitness Trainer. It allows the user to work out in the most spectacular places in the world via bluetooth technology, virtually. You can also plug your iPod/MP3 player or other audio device to the auxiliary input jack which is inegrated with a sound system. There is also a bottle holder and reading rack/device holder. All in all, the Smooth CE 5.5 is a high-grade, sturdy elliptical trainer for home use. Unfortunately for this machine, there are plenty of very good crosstrainers at this price point. The Diamondback 1060ef is one of them that should be taken into consideration.

The old, good Smooth Fitness has gone out of business. The brand belongs to the other maufacturer, now. It offers new elliptical series, which have nothing similar (except the name) with the old, proven crosstrainers. If you are looking to buy Smooth Fitness elliptical trainer, rather get one of the proven elliptical machines, such as: the Horizon EX59 or even more expensive the Sole e35.
