In our humble opinion, Schwinn ellipticals are overpriced. Instead, we suggest you to consider the Horizon EX-59 or even better and a bit more expensive Sole E25. These are machines of much better quality, sold at a similar price range.

The Schwinn 470 elliptical machine belongs to the top-of-the-line exercise machines of the Schwinn cross trainer series. It has been introduced on fitness market at the end of 2013 as a model for 2014. It is packed with all high-end features that the Bowflex engineers could come up with (Bowflex is the manufacturer of Schwinn equipment). This is the most beautifull and most equipped cross trainer by Schwinn that we ever tested. However, my review will remain unbiased ;-)

The Schwinn 470 elliptical trainer is equipped with an advanced eddy current resistance system. In addition to 25 resistance levels, it has a 10-degree motorized adjustable ramp which enables user controlled in-workout incline changes for fun and challenging workouts. A 20" stride length coupled with Precision Path™ foot motion technology, offers smooth and quiet workout. Large footplates allow you to place your feet in a position that's comfortable for you. Footpedals are cushioned to make long workouts a little easier. The machine accomodates users up to 300 lbs (136kg) and has a long stride length that will be comfortable even for tall users.

The 470's console has two LCD blue backlit displays. The main display measures 5 by 3 inches and the secondary with dimensions of 5 inches by 1 inch. Additionally, there are 6 LED tracking lights. The computer console is preloaded with 29 programs ((12 profile; 9 heart rate control (4 Beginner; 4 Advanced; 1 Custom); 4 custom user defined; 2 fitness tests (1 Beginner; 1 Advanced); 1 recovery test; 1 quick start) and additional feature). The big advantage of this machine is that it allows up to 4 user profiles. There are also 2 speakers, USB charging port and 3-speed cooling fan. Transport wheels, levelers and bottle holder come as standard equipment at this price point too. The 470 is the best elliptical trainer under the Scwinn brand so far.

I also want to draw your attention to the Horizon EX-59, which is great elliptical crosstrainer, sold at even lower price than the Schwinn 470.

Unfortunately, most of the Schwinn elliptical crosstrainers are out of manufacture. It seems, the owner as decided to close the brand down. We suggest you to consider the other reputable brands, similar in quality and price range, such as:
