In our humble opinion, Schwinn ellipticals are overpriced. Instead, we suggest you to consider the Horizon EX-59 or even better and a bit more expensive Sole E25. These are machines of much better quality, sold at a similar price range.

When we had the opportunity to test the model 470, at the same time we were able to meet the Schwinn 430 and compare their performances with each other. The Schwinn 470 is considered as the best buy elliptical trainer in its price catogory. In-depth review on Schwinn 470 is published on the other page. Before I dive into the Scwinn 430 elliptical review, I must emphasize that both are great machines and both are equally as effective.

These two models of Schwinn elliptical trainers are very similar. In fact, according to its features the Schwinn 430 seems to be a cheaper version of the 470. In other words, the 470 is an upgraded version of the 430. Both machines come on a same sturdy frame that acccomodates users up to 300 lbs. The same high-end Eddy Currnet Brake system with high inertia perimeter weighted flywheel is built in both models, as well as large, cushioned footplates. The main difference is in the computer console and features that it provides.

Conclusion: The Schwinn 430 elliptical trainer offers high-end features and customization but at a budget-conscious price. Here is a useful info you should know before you buy Schwinn 430: the maximum height of the footplate is 21" (53 cm). Add that to your height, plus several inches for comfortable clearance, to calculate the minimum ceiling height.
