The 2014 generation of Precor elliptical crosstrainers includes a good few high-grade machines. Besides several great ellipticals for commercial use, there are couple of light-commercial fitness crosstrainers designed for home use. Two of them are equally popular, according to ratings and reviews. We tested both of them and made a comparison between their features: EFX 5.23 vs 5.25.

Precor EFX-5.23 Elliptical Machine Review

With a price around $2000 the EFX 5.23 is one of the cheapest elliptical machines by Precor. It's a pretty basic machine for the Precor's standards. Although it is equipped with an incline ramp, its three levels are only manually adjustable. Also, the stride length is fixed at 18 inches. All in all, the 5.23 looks like a cheaper version of the EFX 5.25 which comes with adjustable stride length and motorized incline ramp (but it is popular exactly for its lower price).

The computer console of the Precor EFX 5.23 elliptical fitness crosstrainer features a wide 4x3" baclikt LCD display. It is preloaded with 8 programs, as follow: Cross trainer, Fat burner, Gluteals, Heart rate, Hill climb, Interval, Manual and Weight Loss. It allows you to monitor your heart rate through the sensors built in handlebars or via a chest strap transmitter (transmitter not included). The EFX motion is smooth and natural. It allows your heels to remain in contact with foot pedals, reducing muscle and tendon stress.
