It was a good machine and we were impressed, like we impressed again with the latest, re-designed, upgraded and improved model for 2012. Not only it is packed with plenty new features, but new Schwinn 431 elliptical trainer has the best price ever. Now you can buy Schwinn 431 for about $100 less than previously simpler model which had a price around $800.

The instructions for assembly are pretty clear to follow for the average handyman. Everything needed to assemble is included. The 431 is actually quite compact and can fit into smaller spaces than other machines of its front drive type. It's a small enough for the living room and quiet enough to doesn't disturb any neighbors. Like all Schwinn elliptical trainers, the 431 is also equipped with transportation wheels on the front of the unit. These wheels are enabled once the unit is lifted by the handle at the back of the unit. You can simply lift the back of the unit a couple of inches and pull or push the unit into place. An excellent machine for home use, so sturdy that an average user would thought it is almost as good as the ones at a commercial gym (it wouldn't be fair to compare a low-mid-priced unit to commercial equiptment). Comfortable to use, very stable, relatively lightweight and easy to move around.

The easy to read console allows for varied resistance levels. The ranges are wide so you can always find the right level. The console design includes an integrated MP3/portable media compartment, on-console towel hook and fan. The 431 is equipped with contact heart rate sensors and 3 heart rate control programs. These programs enable you to choose to workout in 3 different heart rate zones 60% to 70%, 70% to 80%, and 80% to 90% of max. heart rate. The zones are calculated based upon your age and the percent of maximum heart rate you select to exercise in.
